The Mombasa Triathlon is in the forefront in promoting sports in the Coast region. The young   children and the youth who live at the Coast are at risk of getting into the Drug abuse. Sports is an important weapon and has helped many in diverting attention from drugs and keeping themselves occupied in a noble course. Thanks to the Support from Lars Gehre and Mattius Kiebb from Germany for providing support to the Mombasa youth which has helped many come into sports.

Drug addicts in Mombasa and other parts of the coast have resorted to shocking methods to feed their expensive habit. A survey in the backstreets of the town and the narrow alleys of the Old Town, where the habit is rampant, revealed addicts who just live for the drugs they take. Lets join hands by keeping our youth engaged in sports. Support them in all ways possible.

Cash Prize for the Community events at 1st Position Ksh 3000,  2nd Position Ksh 2000  3rd Position  Ksh 1000 in the categories for both male and female.

2:00pm  9/Under   100m swim,  3km Bike, 200m Run

2:00pm  10-13 years   200m swim, 3km Bike,  400m Run

2:20pm  14-16 years 17-20 years 21-30years  31-40 years 41-50 years 51 years and above     Cross at Fort Jesus, approx 350m swim, 5km Bike 1000m Run

3:00pm  Open Relay  with 3 athletes per team.    Cross at Fort Jesus, approx 350m swim, 5km Bike 1000m Run

2010 ITU AFRICAN CUP TRIATHLON ROUTE MAP -

ELITE AND AGE GROUP DISTANCES:   1.5K SWIM , 40K BIKE, 10K RUN, 

YOUTH AND AGE GROUP 750M SWIM , 20K BIKE, 5K RUN, 

• Two lap in a triangular format at the most clean white sandy beach hotels.

• Clear markings in the sea to guide the swimmers on the flow.

Transition Area.

• 2 transitions, T1 is 30m away from the swim exit and T2 is near the finish line at the Treasury Square.

• Eight  laps of bike course.
• Mostly flat with windy conditions.

• Four laps of 2.5km
• Flat course.
